Mountains are symbolic in life of overcoming one’s challenges – and rising to the top and succeeding.
We all have different challenges in life to overcome that we have chosen from a spiritual level. As we overcome a challenge, we don’t have to address it again, and we can move onto bigger and better things.
This is also the nature of ascension.
Like a mountain, the journey becomes steeper and more challenging the higher you climb; but the rewards are also greater.
In this post I would like to talk to you about choice.
One of the greatest gifts we have been given is the gift to make choices about everything in every moment.
What will I eat? When will I go to sleep? When will I wake up? What will I do today? What will I think today? How will I react today?
We make choices constantly all day long which create and affect our life today and also create and affect our future moments.
The series of choices we make today affect our future, not some predestined writings.
‘Spiritual Growth’ as a definition will differ between people, according to their experiences, beliefs and personality characteristics.
Just like buying a t-shirt or pair of jeans – one size definitely does not fit all, thus I can only share my view…
The word spiritual alludes to that something within us which is above and beyond that of our physical reality.
Spiritual growth then is the path we walk to accomplish a greater awareness and alignment to this inner-force.
I have been told several times by psychic mediums, that in a past life I was a Catholic Priest. For me this rings true.
I also feel I have karmic baggage from this life as a priest that I am clearing in this life. Funny enough in this life I don’t consider myself religious at all, religion doesn’t really resonate with me.
I consider myself a spiritual person. I believe in a supreme creator, God, ET’s, our higher nature and spirit in many forms.
This article is not to convince you or win you over in one way or the other, as ultimately, we all have free choice in what we believe.

I would like to share this story with you – Author unknown.
One day a man saw an old lady stranded on the side of the road. Even in the fading light of the day, he could see she needed help. He pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.
Even with a smile on his face, she was worried as he approached. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn’t look safe; he looked poor and hungry.
He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was those chills which only fear can put in you.
He said, “I’m here to help you, ma’am. Why don’t you wait in the car where it’s warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.”
It is easy to get caught up in the negative side of life with the rising cost of living, bad weather, struggling economies – not to mention the negative side of what we see on television.
It is important to remember that what we focus our attention on we become.
There are many blessings in life every day, but where is your attention; on hardships, stress and unhappiness (which are created by us) or the blessings and joy in our life?
I often hear people say, “If only I had time to do what I need to do to grow spiritually.”
I have come to understand that people tend to compartmentalize who they are by ‘where they are and what they are doing’.
Who hasn’t tried to improve themselves by saying, “I will try to put aside some time every day to be present.”
Having been thinking on this I think, ‘Wow! What a way to load more pressure on yourself in a life that is often too busy – where time just seems to move faster and faster.’
I really believe that walking with spirit is the essence of who we are and not meant to be turned on at times.
You have a lovely, personal, private Temple.
We all do.
Inside your unique Mystic Temple…
you’ll discover all of the wonderful abilities, talents, energies, meditations, astral friends and tools you’ve accumulated over all of your countless lifetimes.
What you find will tell you a great deal about who and what you really are, what your purpose is and what your best tools and strongest abilities are.
Maybe you’ll discover your Mystic Temple inside yourself … Maybe you’ll find it in the Astral Realms.
It doesn’t really matter where your perception tells you it’s located – the process for finding and exploring your lovely Temple remains the same.
You will achieve the best results in these exercises by pouring vast amounts of love into each area as it appears. Love will bring it back to life. Love will protect you and heal everything you encounter.
I would like to talk to you about your energy awareness – and how it can help move us forward or stand in our way.
What we need to understand is that our mind creates our physical reality. As we think and feel, our energy reflects this and creates the pictures of our thoughts.
There are many things in our lives that distract us and draw our energy and hold us from moving forward.
Drama in our lives really does not need our attention, it just wants our energy and awareness.

I’ve been on a spiritual path for several years now. It was a rocky road.
At about eighteen, I had a breakthrough. After 5 years of struggling to find an answer to my ongoing existential crisis, I realised that I had been wrong about everything.
I mean everything. I mean, the Universe.
There are many paths to enlightenment and no particular right or wrong way to get there.
Essentially it is about going within, working on your thoughts and belief structures and taping into your sub conscious mind.
There becomes a time where the conscious and sub conscious minds merge; whereas before the sub-conscious was hidden, yet still influencing your thoughts and day-to-day living.
To me this defines what enlightenment means, to have greater awareness.
You may have heard the saying that ‘life is a game’ – and come to realize that everyone plays a different role in the drama of life.
While we are in the game, it feels very real and sometimes hard to detach ourselves from it emotionally.
Throughout our sojourns as a spirit pretending to be human, we experience many roles. We do this to expand our awareness and experience as a spirit and to evolve.
Meditation can be a great tool to learn to silence one’s mind to hear the soft whispers of spirit. Spirit is always there to help guide us in our life, but it is often subtle and easy to ignore.
I have heard “Namaste” in my spiritual circles over the years but did not really know what it meant. I asked a few friends who had strong ideas – but all of their ideas were different.
But then I remembered that little internet thingy called Wikipedia.
And no wonder I was confused! It’s worth a look just for the laugh … but I digress.
Namaste: “The Divine In Me – Salutes – The Divine In You!”
A guest post by Brad Austen.
There is a saying many of us are familiar with; “Everything happens for our highest good”.
I believe there is some truth in this statement because on a higher level everything that happens to us supports our enlightenment and evolution.
On a human level, we may not make the highest choices as we have free will to choose our thoughts and to act on these thoughts. Most of us will make mistakes because this is how we learn and review those choices afterwards.
The key is not to dwell on our perceived past mistakes, because they have made you who you are today.
It is my belief that mistakes support our path to our highest good.
A spirit-inspired guest post by Brad Austen.
There can be times in many people’s lives when they may find themselves at a crossroads and not know which direction to take.
Firstly, realize you are not alone! Many people question what to do with their life at one time or another.
From the dawn of civilized society, man has quested for Spiritual Growth.
In tribal times the leader of the clan would look to the Shaman for direction and advice. The Shaman would interpret the signs of nature or vision quest into spiritual realms for insight.
The Pagans were a nature-based society with high regard for intuition. Sadly, much of their knowledge was lost in the Great Witch-Hunts of the Dark Ages, and those who preferred spiritual education to religious were forced underground.
But never has there been a time before now with greater interest and acceptance of those looking for spiritual growth. Community based Spiritualist churches and remote meditation and psychic development circles are flourishing.
The path to enlightenment is often called a path because it is a journey through time and space … You don’t simply wake up one day enlightened.
It takes time and dedication to the spiritual path over many years and lifetimes. Everyone is at different stages of enlightenment on the planet. Some are more advanced in areas and some are still in infancy in areas.
Life on earth supports enlightenment through the challenges, tests and trials we are faced with throughout our life.
I saw this quote and it really made me think…
“Your beliefs don’t make you a better person, your behavior does.”
So your beliefs do not define who you are – your actions do.
But how often do we hold up our beliefs or hide behind them?
Our beliefs are really just meant to be a heading on who we are and how we act.
What is the point of having beliefs if they don’t manifest in our day to day lives and define who we are?
How does one become or remain balanced in an imbalanced world?
With so much negativity and suffering happening in the world, it can be a challenge not to get drawn in and affected by it. You only have to switch on the TV or listen to the radio to hear about all the negativity and bad things happening in the world. Mainstream news is usually roughly 90 percent negative and 10 percent positive, which is very unbalanced reporting.
It also isn’t an accurate reflection of the majority of humanity; most people are inherently good.
Mirrors are an interesting topic as everyone can relate to them on some level.
What is a mirror you may ask?
Physical mirrors aside, Mirrors are based on the principle that everything in the external world is simply a reflection of our internal state of being. It’s also the law of attraction in action.
