Hello I am Maya, and today I am going to share with you my view on Spiritual Growth.

Understand that this definition will differ between people, according to their experiences, beliefs and personality characteristics.

Just like buying a t-shirt or pair of jeans – one size definitely does not fit all, thus I can only share my view…

The word spiritual alludes to that something within us which is above and beyond that of our physical reality.

Spiritual growth then is the path we walk to accomplish a greater awareness and alignment to this inner-force.

I’m a nature lover. For me it’s the canvas on which Mother Earth expresses her beauty – and to connect with that natural energy both purifies and energizes me. It’s my happy place. When connected to nature – I am free to be my spiritual-self.

So whenever I hear of the opportunity to deepen my spiritual connection with the divine, feminine, nurturing energy she provides my ears prick up and my interest is held captive.

Entertaining the ideas of Past Lives and Reincarnation absolutely amazes me because of the really big picture it paints in my mind. The scope of this is huge. The scale of perspective pushes my comprehension and understanding. We really are spiritual beings having a human experience, and so many people have no idea!

These concepts have made me realized that humans give so much focus, (both our time and energy), to things, thoughts and situations that in the grand scheme of things are really insignificant.

It is easy to get caught up in the negative side of life with the rising cost of living, bad weather, struggling economies – not to mention the negative side of what we see on television.

It is important to remember that what we focus our attention on we become.

There are many blessings in life every day, but where is your attention; on hardships, stress and unhappiness (which are created by us) or the blessings and joy in our life?

Mountains are symbolic in life of overcoming one’s challenges – and rising to the top and succeeding.

We all have different challenges in life to overcome that we have chosen from a spiritual level. As we overcome a challenge, we don’t have to address it again, and we can move onto bigger and better things.

This is also the nature of ascension.

Like a mountain, the journey becomes steeper and more challenging the higher you climb; but the rewards are also greater.

Was there a point in your life where you made the conscious decision to be more spiritual, or were you wandering aimlessly, only to look up and realize that you were on a spiritual path?

Me? I just took one step at a time and ended up right where I am now. There was no singular life-changing awakening or majestic realization heralded by Angels.

We have created a society that predominately values the outer landscape and has forgotten the inner landscape.

This is slowly changing and one-day society will value the inner landscape again.

We certainly still need the outer landscape, but it needs to be balanced and integrated with the inner landscape.

By turning inward, we begin to understand who we are as a person.

Do you think the caterpillar knows what it will become as it retreats from the world into its cocoon?

Or it is a grand gesture of faith – and it simply trusts that everything will be OK in time?

The reason that I ask is that I have metaphorically been in a cocoon over the last several months and I am wondering what is to come.

Did you know that every human being is naturally endowed with “God-given” psychic abilities?

These ‘supernatural powers’ do not only belong to the gifted few, as anyone can develop these psychic powers.

All you need is the key to unlock your potential.

Let us quickly look at the Psychic Powers you could be enjoying.

I am often asked by people, “Will I meet my soul mate?” … and my answer to that is, “You already have”.

So many people spend their life craving the perfect romantic partner to suit the ideal their ego has made for them when in reality; I believe we have many soul mates or soul connections, as I prefer to call them.

I believe we come here with lessons that we need to learn and there are many souls that have agreed to be part of our life here to help us with those lessons.

There are many paths to enlightenment and no particular right or wrong way to get there.

Essentially it is about going within, working on your thoughts and belief structures and taping into your sub conscious mind.

There becomes a time where the conscious and sub conscious minds merge; whereas before the sub-conscious was hidden, yet still influencing your thoughts and day-to-day living.

To me this defines what enlightenment means, to have greater awareness.

When someone tells you that you can’t do something…

Well I am not long back from another camping trip. Now some people might like to spend their break lying on the couch, doing the chores they can never find time for, or sitting on a deck chair drinking fancy drink with umbrellas.

Me? I love getting back to nature… with no phone, no clock and no computer.

The most easterly point of Australia is Byron Bay. (If you can picture a map of Australia it is about half way up on the right.) The world heritage listed wilderness of Toonumbar National Park is about 2 hours inland from there.

So many of us in the world today are ruled by fear and limiting perceptions of ourself.

These habits, these illusions of reality have been sold to us by our ego which is born from the conditioning and perceptions we have learned about ourselves in our lifetime.

For most of us, our ego is what we use to react to our daily experiences.

These beliefs, habits and attitudes influence our daily reactions, responses and behaviors towards ourselves and others.
