Lately I’ve been enjoying some time away from computers and technology.

I came to the realization that in one sense technology liberates us but at the same time also can enslave us.

The enslavement is the time it takes out of our days, where we could be enjoying the sunshine or a sunset.

I started to think about freedom and what it really means to be free.

Our Earthly ExistanceI receive lots of comments on Explore Meditation. Most are very supportive or thankful, and then there are some that offer true insight.

In reference to the post I wrote called “Contacting My Dead Friend“, where I filmed a clairvoyant give me a reading on the anniversary of my friends death, I received a comment from ‘Jacqui’ which I believe sums up a concept very beautifully. I emailed Jacqui to ask permission to post it (offering her a bio or return link), and all she said was “Yes, of course you can post it as an individual post, that is a kind gesture, and I thank you for it. In love and light, Jacqui.” So… here it is!

Being AdaptableI was walking off stage after busting out some reluctant Karaoke…

It was a Robbie Williams Kylie Minogue duet I was singing with a girl I had just met while flicking through the song lists.

My male friend who had been watching from the back of the room shook his head as I approached.

“Damn I hate you. You are good at everything you do,” he said.

You What Now!? (I was expecting a high-five).

Although he had said it with a half-smile, I could tell it was more than a passing comment. It was obviously something he had given previous consideration, and I quickly figured a large part of him was hoping that I had failed at my karaoke attempt.

It took me some time to realize the meaning behind his words…

Meditation in MountainsI recently had the opportunity to ‘get away’. Some people think I’m crazy when I tell them, but yes, I went camping by myself.

No I didn’t get bored, I wasn’t scared and I wasn’t worried about the many things that could have gone wrong. It was 4 days and three nights of bliss.

I love my computer and the many wonderful things it can do, but no achievement by man has come close to the efforts of Mother Nature. She combines a million factors in balance and no where is the cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth more apparent.

For some of you the perfect holiday may be sitting beside a pool on a deck chair ordering a few fancy drinks. And don’t get me wrong – that would be lovely too, but let me tell you quickly about the Bunya Mountains.

Being PresentI often hear people say, “If only I had time to do what I need to do to grow spiritually.”

I have come to understand that people tend to compartmentalize who they are by ‘where they are and what they are doing’.

Who hasn’t tried to improve themselves by saying, “I will try to put aside some time every day to be present.”

Having been thinking on this I think, ‘Wow! What a way to load more pressure on yourself in a life that is often too busy – where time just seems to move faster and faster.’

I really believe that walking with spirit is the essence of who we are and not meant to be turned on at times.

Life LessonsYou may have heard the saying that ‘life is a game’ – and come to realize that everyone plays a different role in the drama of life.

While we are in the game, it feels very real and sometimes hard to detach ourselves from it emotionally.

Throughout our sojourns as a spirit pretending to be human, we experience many roles. We do this to expand our awareness and experience as a spirit and to evolve.

Meditation can be a great tool to learn to silence one’s mind to hear the soft whispers of spirit. Spirit is always there to help guide us in our life, but it is often subtle and easy to ignore.

Life PathThis is a time for new beginnings. The past is behind us and it is time for us to move forward.

Most people don’t strive for new beginnings because the unknown is scary.

Even though people may not like where they are at the moment (job, relationship, anything), it is still familiar, comfortable, predictable … and requires minimal effort.

It is often avoidance (not being honest with ourselves) and resistance (too hard to change which is based on fear) that stops us.

It is not possible to move in two directions at the same time, so whilst we are wasting our energy fighting against what we don’t want, we make no progress towards what we do want.

Path to EnlightenmentThere are many paths to enlightenment and no particular right or wrong way to get there.

Essentially it is about going within, working on your thoughts and belief structures and taping into your sub conscious mind.

There becomes a time where the conscious and sub conscious minds merge; whereas before the sub-conscious was hidden, yet still influencing your thoughts and day-to-day living.

To me this defines what enlightenment means, to have greater awareness.

Clearing Subtle BodyMeditation is the basic practice to attain balance within our physical, mental and emotional bodies.

Meditation enables us to live with greater happiness in today’s stressful atmosphere.

Keeping yourself in balance should be a priority, but it can be a very tough task without Meditation.

Meditation provides the opportunity for everyone to receive joy and happiness in all aspects of their lives.

Energy AwarenessI would like to talk to you about your energy awareness – and how it can help move us forward or stand in our way.

What we need to understand is that our mind creates our physical reality. As we think and feel, our energy reflects this and creates the pictures of our thoughts.

There are many things in our lives that distract us and draw our energy and hold us from moving forward.

Drama in our lives really does not need our attention, it just wants our energy and awareness.

Spiritual AscensionAscension is a gradual process of becoming enlightened while walking around as a human being.

It is a process of changing from a disconnected human being, to a connected human being, connected to one’s higher self and the realm of spirit. During ascension spirit begins to merge with matter over a period of time, parts of our soul/higher self begin to merge with our body/mind/spirit.

While there are some similarities of ascension with everyone, it is also a very unique and personal experience. After all, we are all so unique and special in our own way.

NumerologyI get the relationship between astrology and astronomy.

As the planets move to different positions they affect our energy and behavior. (It’s so easy to see with the tides and the phase of the moon)(And the moods of my ex-girlfriend! ha).
But when numerology was first explained to me I thought the people that believed it were gullible and desperate for insight.

To define it, Numerology is the method of creating a relationship between numbers and living things.

I.e. Each letter of the alphabet has been given a numeric value. A=1, B=2, etc. If you write your name down and allocate the values to each letter, you can add up those values in different ways to tell you divined secrets about your personality and destiny.

Meaning of my Favorite ColorEvery color in the visible light spectrum has a different frequency.

It’s no coincidence that rainbows always appear to us in the order of Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. It is a scientific fact that each color vibrates, or exists with a different energy.

As color is everywhere, we take for granted the effect it has on our lives. But just because we are not aware does not mean that we are not influenced by the powerful energies each color has.

The use of color with specific intent has been used for centuries – but at no time more than now.

One day a man saw an old lady stranded on the side of the road. Even in the fading light of the day, he could see she needed help. He pulled up in front of her Mercedes and got out. His Pontiac was still sputtering when he approached her.

Even with a smile on his face, she was worried as he approached. No one had stopped to help for the last hour or so. Was he going to hurt her? He didn’t look safe; he looked poor and hungry.

He could see that she was frightened, standing out there in the cold. He knew how she felt. It was those chills which only fear can put in you.

He said, “I’m here to help you, ma’am. Why don’t you wait in the car where it’s warm? By the way, my name is Bryan Anderson.”

Exercises for your BrainThe brain is the organ in our body which allows us to think and interact with the environment; through perception and cognition.

Our brain constantly builds neurons while learning from the new challenges we face each day.

Just like the physical body, our brain also needs to be exercised, if it is to perform at its best.

It is very important to perform tasks that challenge your brain. This helps in building intellect, co-ordination, physical agility, enhanced memory and advanced cognitive behaviors.
