Do you think the caterpillar knows what it will become as it retreats from the world into its cocoon?
Or it is a grand gesture of faith – and it simply trusts that everything will be OK in time?
The reason that I ask is that I have metaphorically been in a cocoon over the last several months and I am wondering what is to come.
I’ve had numerologists tell me the energies of the ‘Date’ plays an important role.
I’ve had astrologists tell me Mars and Jupiter are both doing ‘something’ … other than being just ‘planets in space’.
And I’ve had spiritualists repeatedly tell I’m not the only one feeling out of sorts.
The last several months has seen great change in all areas of my life. Change before was never a concern … I like change … But there was something overwhelming about it being in every aspect of my life at once.
I have no doubt it was a test.
Testing is a part of Spiritual Growth
I’m sure I have mentioned previously my comparison to life and a roller coaster.
Slow bits that build … times that are exhilarating and amazing … and moments that defy the logic of gravity and are totally out of your control.
Some people cringe for the entire ride and hide behind tightly squeezed eyes, while the person in the seat next to them keeps their hands in the air and laughs with joy – surrendering their well-being to the secure embrace of the harness.
I’ve realized that we are all on the same ride … but its how we choose to experience it that makes us unique.
I sat in contemplation on my recent existence and am compelled to share the following words.
“As a warrior of light, fighting for all that is good, you have taken it upon yourself to reside on the front line and fight in an ever-present battle.
And although there is beauty in battle, with the success of each encounter the result of a master of an art, a war is most often won with the implementation of correct strategy.
This perspective is best gained when viewing the situation with clear sight. For this one must take a step back.
And is it not true that a warrior would be a better performer when in-sync with the regiment, for indeed, one alone cannot whistle a symphony.
And to be true, the resting of the will is not to be slack, if is serves to provide opportunity to bring balance to the self.
Greater awareness grows from this balanced perspective – allowing one to be their best.
These realizations are best achieved from within dedicated meditation.
There is a time and a place for everything.
For the warrior of light in the heat of battle, and, the master of self in search of peace.
Although at extremes … both are connected by ‘control’. Both are mastered with balance.”
And with these inspired thoughts I know my cocoon has been for a purpose.
It has been an opportunity to gain perspective, while safe from harm’s way.
I’ve now looked at myself and how I’m progressing, and the world around me and how I’m to fit in.
We are just entering spring in Australia … and I am very much looking forward to the season to come.
As I emerge from my cocoon, I am to spread my wings and explore a new world, for that is the way.
And I wish to tell all caterpillars to keep the faith – and dare to dream.
