Contacting my Dead FriendDoesn’t time fly? I can’t believe a year has passed since my dear friend left the Earth plane.

Although Adriana hadn’t been well for some time, it wasn’t life-threatening … so it was a shock when I heard the news.

Adriana is, (and I can say this now she isn’t here to reprimand me), 20-ISH years older than me. We had a strong connection, and although we loved each other; we weren’t ‘in love’ with each other.

She would call me her soul brother and I would call her my big spiritual sister. She was an only child so I was honored to form part of her adopted family.

We first met in a work environment. I was a cameraman and she was the talent. After completing several TV commercials and a reality pilot, our friendship strengthened and we would call each other on occasion without work as the motivator.

Meditation PracticeDo you think the caterpillar knows what it will become as it retreats from the world into its cocoon?

Or it is a grand gesture of faith – and it simply trusts that everything will be OK in time?

The reason that I ask is that I have metaphorically been in a cocoon over the last several months and I am wondering what is to come.

Cherokee Sweat LodgeI have just I experienced my first Native American Sweat Lodge.

It has been on my list of ‘things to do’ for some time, as my ears would prick whenever I would hear someone sharing their experience, but with divine timing, it was obviously perfect for me to experience it … now.

Types of MeditationMeditation has evolved throughout history, with respect to location, religion and philosophy. It is widely recognized that there are many different ways to Meditate, even though many techniques have similar goals.

It reminds me of the saying, ‘There are many paths to God.’ I believe it is wrong to say that one Meditation Technique / path is better than another, because you are judging a person’s journey, and you don’t know from where they have come.

Their path is perfect for them, as yours is for you.

As such, I will not say that any of the meditation techniques listed below is better than the others. I encourage you to explore the doors that open before you to learn through experience, so you can decide for yourself.

What is MeditationTo explain Meditation we should start with the Definition. But even that is not as easy as it sounds.

Because Meditation has been around for thousands of years, and is interwoven throughout the different cultures and religions of the world, one definition to keep everyone happy is a task indeed!

But we have to make a start, so; Meditation is ‘A mental discipline by which one attempts to get beyond the reflexive ‘thinking’ mind – into a deeper state of relaxation.

The above statement is the desire – or process of Meditation.

The benefits have been ‘felt’ for thousands of years, but now science has evolved to ‘prove’ what is actually happening.

There are many benefits you can receive by taking a ten minute break from your computer right now. The most documented benefits are reduced blood pressure and heart rate, reduced stress and anxiety, a greater sense of peace, a greater sense of connection to your true thoughts and feelings – and indeed, your spiritual truth.

With these immediate changes in your being, it will allow deeper and better quality sleep, more creativity, abundant energy and a passion for life.
