I was walking off stage after busting out some reluctant Karaoke…
It was a Robbie Williams Kylie Minogue duet I was singing with a girl I had just met while flicking through the song lists.
My male friend who had been watching from the back of the room shook his head as I approached.
“Damn I hate you. You are good at everything you do,” he said.
You What Now!? (I was expecting a high-five).
Although he had said it with a half-smile, I could tell it was more than a passing comment. It was obviously something he had given previous consideration, and I quickly figured a large part of him was hoping that I had failed at my karaoke attempt.
It took me some time to realize the meaning behind his words…
Just the other day I got in a Fight!
I was out near my Worm Farm, transplanting a few cherry tomato seedlings when it all began.
I had a bag of potting mix between my knees, both hands full of dirt and BAMMO!
One of the neighbor’s bees lined me up and took me down with one hit (but not before I squealed hysterically, ran in circles and threw dirt everywhere).
I was stung on the top of my cheek, just below my right eye. I was home alone and a little worried about the effects, as I had been stung on my foot a few years previous and my whole leg swelled. Luckily, this time, Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation saved a disaster. My face did swell a little – but only enough to cut some vision and make me look a little chubby. But the worst thing of all – It hurt when I smiled.
Doesn’t time fly? I can’t believe a year has passed since my dear friend left the Earth plane.
Although Adriana hadn’t been well for some time, it wasn’t life-threatening … so it was a shock when I heard the news.
Adriana is, (and I can say this now she isn’t here to reprimand me), 20-ISH years older than me. We had a strong connection, and although we loved each other; we weren’t ‘in love’ with each other.
She would call me her soul brother and I would call her my big spiritual sister. She was an only child so I was honored to form part of her adopted family.
We first met in a work environment. I was a cameraman and she was the talent. After completing several TV commercials and a reality pilot, our friendship strengthened and we would call each other on occasion without work as the motivator.

Meditation has evolved throughout history, with respect to location, religion and philosophy. It is widely recognized that there are many different ways to Meditate, even though many techniques have similar goals.
It reminds me of the saying, ‘There are many paths to God.’ I believe it is wrong to say that one Meditation Technique / path is better than another, because you are judging a person’s journey, and you don’t know from where they have come.
Their path is perfect for them, as yours is for you.
