I get the relationship between astrology and astronomy.

As the planets move to different positions they affect our energy and behavior. (It’s so easy to see with the tides and the phase of the moon)(And the moods of my ex-girlfriend! ha).
But when numerology was first explained to me I thought the people that believed it were gullible and desperate for insight.

To define it, Numerology is the method of creating a relationship between numbers and living things.

I.e. Each letter of the alphabet has been given a numeric value. A=1, B=2, etc. If you write your name down and allocate the values to each letter, you can add up those values in different ways to tell you divined secrets about your personality and destiny.

It reminded me of the “Love Calculator” game I used to do in primary school, to see what love % I had with different girls and to decide whether I should ask them to be my girlfriend. (Experimentation proved it wasn’t very accurate.)

But I must admit… I was surprised to learn that Pythagoras (that super-smart math’s guy from the olden days) was a big fan of Numerology. (It has since been discredited by modern-day scientists – but that’s no surprise.)

One of my spiritual friends was exploring numerology, and I somewhat reluctantly agreed to a reading. With just a few minutes of mathematical equation, she was flicking through her book and reading me specific paragraphs … that were resonating very true.

I wondered if the numerological divinitation had been written in a way that would ring-true to whoever read it, so I purposefully made a small mathematical error and read those paragraphs. Nope. It was like I had stepped into opposite-day. None of it read true.

Numerology has been around for thousands of years. There must be something in it. So I looked around on the net and found that Numerology is Big Business!

The most respected numerology website I could find was www.numerologist.com

They have a super fancy video that tells you how Numerology will change your life – but there is one line in the video that stood out to me. “Allow us to prove it to you.” So that’s what I did.
