Affiliate Marketing is now commonplace. Promoting the products and services of other practitioners is a great way to financially complement your efforts.

It is important to make sure the products you promote are well-aligned to the interests of your subscribers, and of course, to be honest with your recommendations.

When it is done well, you are actually doing a service for your website visitors and newsletter subscribers.

These referrals needn’t be a hard-sell. I have a free meditation available to those visitors who sign up to my newsletter. You can simply tell your contacts about the free meditation and if they purchase any product from me you are credited with the full commission.

The newsletter follow-up series on Explore Meditation has been designed as a mix of quality information and product promotion.

Being an Affiliate Marketer can be a great way to gain additional income.

  • If you have a Website that attracts visitors with Spiritual Interests, you can simply place a banner on your site to direct traffic.
  • If you have a Newsletter, you can inform your subscribers about these meditations and include a link to direct traffic.
  • If you have a Blog, you can review my meditations and include a link to direct traffic.
  • If you are familiar with PPC (Pay Per Click) you can advertise on the Search Engines to direct traffic.

Your Affiliate Link

When you send an email to your database, always triple check that your affiliate link has been included correctly. Send a test email to yourself and click through to the purchase screen. Your affiliate ID will be at the bottom of the payment page if done correctly.

I strongly suggest generating a Hoplink Shield, which masks the Affiliate and Vendor details. (Check with Clickbank for more on this)

Solo Emails

Sending a direct dedicated email to your existing database is the most effective way to realize quick results.

I have included several ‘sample’ emails below which you can use as they are, or modify them to suit your writing style, individual character or to better address the nature of your subscribers.

Personalizing the emails (by using the recipients name) has proven to generate better results. Be sure the coding is correct for your mail-sending software, and always test your emails before sending to the masses.

I have outlined 3 possible approaches below. Do what you feel best suits your list or desired outcome.

  • Medium Sell
  • Hard Sell

Soft Sell

If you are very ‘personal’ with your list, or your list is not use to receiving affiliate emails from you, the soft sell may be the best approach. It doesn’t generate the sales figures of the hard sell, but keeps more people on your list happy – which is a good thing :)

Even if they only take advantage of the Free Meditation initially, they are then on my newsletter. The follow-up sequence has proven to convert additional sales for those who don’t jump at it on the first visit.

Each newsletter has quality information on Meditation and Spiritual Growth, and gently reminds them that the meditation package is available.

Medium Sell

Depending on your target market, the next level is the medium pitch.

A medium sell concept may, for example, be a specific article on the importance of having a loved and nurtured inner-child.

After explaining what early life events can distress an inner-child and the negative effects it can cause in adult life, you can tell your readers about a Guided Meditation specifically designed to repair their broken bonds … available from Explore Meditation.

If you are talking about Intuition and Inner Guidance, you might explain the role of a spirit guide. Suggest using the Meet Your Spirit Guide meditation … available from Explore Meditation.

The medium sell is not afraid to ask for the purchase, but backs their request with free and valuable information.

A good place to start is to look at the titles of the meditations I have available. Tell your subscribers of your personal experience with a meditation, or how that topic can help them. Include the link to the free audio preview.

PPC

Pay Per Click advertising can be a very effective means of driving targeted traffic to the pitch page. PPC gives you complete control of when and where your ads appear, and how much your investment will be.

PPC is not something that should be undertaken without research and training, though the best way to learn is to jump in the deep-end. Set your Maximum daily spend to $5 or $10, so you can learn ‘on the job’ without breaking the bank.

Google is the market leader, but has gained the reputation of costing you more than the other networks.
