The Magical Color Shower is a Free Guided Meditation you can download from this website. This guided meditation has been specifically designed as an introductory meditation, as it is simple, easy and safe.

It takes just a few moments to experience simple breathing, relaxation, and visualization techniques – to clear your mind of problems and your body of stress.

There are many benefits you can receive by either taking a ten minute break from your computer work right now – or downloading the meditation to your iPod or similar MP3 player to listen at a more suitable time. The most documented benefits are reduced blood pressure and heart rate, reduced stress and anxiety, a greater sense of peace, a greater sense of connection to your true thoughts and feelings – and indeed, your spiritual truth.

With these immediate changes in your being, it will allow deeper and better quality sleep, more creativity, abundant energy and a passion for life.

Free Guided Meditation

Although there are many free guided meditations available on the internet, you can’t be sure they have been created by experienced and qualified professionals. If you are ever listening to a meditation and something doesn’t feel right to you, take a few deep breaths, draw your awareness and your energy back to your center, switch off the meditation and sit for a moment in peace until you feel comfortable. This should be a very rare occurrence, if it ever happens at all – but understand, you should be in control at all times. You must be open and trusting – but not ignorant to the suggestions of anonymous strangers.

That warning out of the way – rest assured, all of the therapists that contribute to Explore Meditation are intuitive professionals of the highest quality. They work in the light for the betterment and spiritual development of all in this world.

Please click free guided meditation to access the mp3 download. It is a simple journey in which you visualize yourself stepping into your shower. You will feel a complete wave of relaxation as the warm water washes over you. The water then changes through the colors of the rainbow, with each color imparting special qualities on your body, mind and spirit.

For those of you new to Guided Meditation this is a great place to start. For experienced meditators, it is a valuable addition to your spiritual resource library. The Magical Color Shower by Nigel Coates runs for 13 minutes.

10 Breaths Of Freedom Relaxation Technique

Treating clients with massage therapy is my day job. To keep it interesting, I include energy work, intuition, and where suitable… guidance.

I am not a trained counselor, so I must keep in check what I suggest, but it was only the other day I realized I do give out quite a bit of advice that falls into the category of commonsense.

I guess it was a natural progression as I always give my injured clients ‘homework’. I suggest specific stretches for those with localized dysfunction. There are good stretches that can be done safely to help, or other things that can trigger spasm or pain. I know the difference and people take my advice on board.

I also use other keys to better health, such as for my salesman with bad posture. Every time he hears his cell phone ring (which is nearly continuous) he tightens his abs, rolls back his pelvis and pulls in his chin. For a week he had to ‘try’, but now it is now an automated trigger that is making him a better person.

But a lot of the clients I see carry stress and burdon with them continuously. The muscles of their shoulders and neck are constantly tight under the pressure. This usually leads to reduced range of movement, tension headaches, and more stress. I often suggest yoga and meditation to create balance in their life, but it’s not practical for everyone – especially those who use the “There isn’t enough time in the day,” excuse.

For these people, I introduce them to the “10 Breaths of Freedom”.

Once a day, each and every day, with no excuses… Give yourself 10 Breaths of Freedom.

You might be thinking, ‘10 breaths… What could that possibly do?’ But let me tell you… A Lot!

Make it the same time each day. On first waking, on your lunch break, after your evening shower or as you lay for bed. Find the time it works best for you and stick it in your schedule.

The first benefit of this technique is that it gets you in the habit of regular practice. No matter what time-restraint excuse you give me, You Do Have Time for 10 Breaths! You brush your teeth every day. You don’t think, ‘Maybe I will today, maybe I wont – because I did it yesterday and ill try to do it tomorrow – so it doesn’t matter if I miss today…’ Because your parents got you in the habit, you do it without question. It is a part of your routine. And that is the goal for the 10 Breaths of Freedom.

Why do you brush your teeth? Because there is benefit. Why take the time to be conscious of 10 breaths? Because there is benefit.

I could list, mental clarity, increased energy, reduced muscle tension and physical stress just for starters; But the benefits you receive may well be unique to you and you will only experience them when if you make this a routine part of your life.

Now keep in mind, the ‘10 breaths’ is just the minimum. If you have alternate meditative activities, then good for you. Use this on the days you don’t do that. If you want to expand the number of breaths you take, go for it. I’ve just called it the “10 Breaths of Freedom” to remove every excuse of time pressures or difficulty.

For the 10 Breaths of Freedom, it is important you are laying flat. (Only if you can do so easily) Use cushions for comfort or support, but it is important to feel solid support beneath you. The breathing itself follows the traditional yogic breath. A constant and steady in-breath, a pause, and constant out-breath of similar time to the in, and pause.

Counting is a common technique to get you going. First Breath In – 2 – 3 – 4, pause… First Breath Out – 2 – 3 – 4, pause… Second Breath In…. etc. (Don’t count the pause to be the same length as the breath, as when your breathing slows this will make the pause to long) It should be a natural breath; Deep, relaxed, and easy…

With the In-Breath, fill your lower abdomen first, then your chest, then your throat. You can reverse that order on the out breath, or just let your whole body deflate without any conscious effort at all. Gravity will do this for you. Both in and out breaths can be through the nose. Some people suggest breathing out of the mouth, but it is not necessary for this exercise. (Try both… It’s up to you)

There are several things to do during these 10 breaths. The first is letting ALL physical tension leave your body. Your diaphragm needs to work, but the rest of you should be a Rag-Doll. Feel tension leave your body with each out breath. Feel it melt off your bones like ice in the sun. Visualize it, imagine it, feel it. When you think you’ve done it… Then relax even more! If you get to 8 before you feel your neck really let go, take a few more breaths or consciously start with relaxing your neck the next time you do the exercise.

Before you get to 10, you should feel as though your whole body has sunk into the floor (bed / couch). Your entire being should feel connected, complete, and as one. Some people can feel or imagine their body as a container with an even flow of energy moving around within it. If you can do this, take note of any blocked areas, as they may need greater attention. Focus your intent on relaxing this area, and feeling the energy flow through it freely. If you can’t feel or experience any of this it doesn’t matter, you are receiving the many benefits anyway.

Now the ‘Freedom’ part of the ‘10 Breaths title’ refers to your mind. If you have a concern or burden, these 10 breaths will give you time apart from them. It’s only a moment, but you will gain respite and perspective.

When you start, focus your thoughts on counting your breath. Only be conscious of the single voice in your head that is counting. If other thoughts arise or interrupt, do not pay them any attention. Do not scold yourself from straying or loosing count – simply return to counting the breath and focus on the one true voice.

If that doesn’t work for you – or you move past it in ability, count quietly in the background on automatic, and be conscious of how the breath ‘feels’ in your body. Feel the expansion and retraction of your abdomen and ribs. Feel the air enter your nostrils and fill your whole body, and then feel it leave again. Or experience this as clean and new energy entering and old stale energy leaving…

Moving beyond that further, try the exercise with positive affirmations. On the in-breath, say in your mind ‘I enjoy complete health, happiness and abundance’, and on the out-breath, ‘I let go of all that no longer serves’. Adapt these words so they are suitable for you. Use the same mantra (in and out) for the whole session. Change it tomorrow if you want to, because if you are thinking of a new thing to say with each breath, your mind will be very active.

As you grow, try the practice without thought all together. Just remain present in the moment, and let all stress leave your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies.

With all the possible techniques above, don’t chop and change between then during the one session. Stay with one method for several days or weeks until you have learnt all from it that you can.

In conclusion, this technique is not designed for strict practice (except the regularity of it). Don’t use the options above as an excuse to be lazy. One method per session. Dabbling without mental discipline will not see you receive the many benefits as effectively as you could. The main reason it is flexible comes from the desire to remove every excuse for not doing it daily.
I can’t sit still for long – its 10 breaths.
My mind wanders – its 10 breaths.
I don’t have time – its 10 breaths.
Blah Blah Blah – its 10 breaths!

But don’t take my word for it. If you believe you could benefit from the ‘concept’ of what is described above, make a promise to yourself now that you will do it. Don’t say, ‘you will try to do it…’ Just do it or don’t. If you want an out clause, say, “I will do it everyday for 1 month to see what benefits this gives me.” There is no point reading about the benefits – when you can experience them for yourself.

Daily is essential – you can do this technique more often or for more breaths each time if you like. It is a simple, easy and safe way that I suggest to my massage clients to rid themselves of the physical symptoms of mental stress.

It also doubles as a great introduction to the daily practice of a mental / spiritual discipline, breath-work, mind-work and the experience of the positive benefits you can receive if you just stop, and give yourself the chance to take 10 Breaths of Freedom.

Step away from your computer now, lay flat, and relax. Count your breath in, pause, out, pause, abdomen, chest, throat. Feel more tension leave your body with each breath. Concentrate only on the voice that is counting, or how the sensation feels.

Once you have experienced these 10 Breaths of Freedom, decide if you will give yourself this blessing each and every day.

Then share your experience with the Explore Meditation community in the blog space below.

All the best with your practice, Nigel

Bunya Mountains Meditations

Basking in Nature

Basking in Nature

I recently had the opportunity to ‘get away’. Some people think I’m crazy when I tell them, but yes, I went camping by myself. No I didn’t get bored, I wasn’t scared and I wasn’t worried about the many things that could have gone wrong. It was 4 days and three nights of bliss.

I love my computer and the many wonderful things it can do, but no achievement by man has come close to the efforts of Mother Nature. She combines a million factors in balance and no where is the cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth more apparent.

For some of you the perfect holiday may be sitting beside a pool on a deck chair ordering a few fancy drinks. And don’t get me wrong – that would be lovely too, but let me tell you quickly about the Bunya Mountains.

The Bunya Pine tree is huge. The pine cones are as big as a football and way 10kg / 22lbs. It’s wise to take notice of the signs that say, ‘Do Not Loiter between December and March’ because they will do serious damage.

And as I walked through the ever-changing foliage that a sub-tropical rainforest provides, I sat for lunch overlooking the pastures that ran to the horizon and read the back of the back of the National Park map. The Bunya Pine was a favorite food of the Dinosaurs!

As I sat in meditation that fact sank in. These trees had covered these lands for over two million years. Now when man first walked the earth is debatable – but to put it in perspective, we only started counting 2009 years ago. Just think what we have done to the earth in just 0.001% of the time that these trees have been here. But then I read further. The dinosaurs loved to munch on the Pine Cones, but the trees were here before them. Try… 20 million years before!

When the tectonic plate under Australia joined South East Asia, China and Russia, the Bunya Pine was one of the most prolific forms of foliage covering the Earth. For 20 million years they stood tall and proud – helping to create the balanced environment we enjoy today. Then the dinosaurs came and went, and then man came…

The Bunya Mountains National Park in South East Queensland, Australia, is the last refuge of this amazing tree. As the early settlers made inroads into the new frontier… (Australia was discovered by the English in 1788 – though Native Aboriginals had lived here for over 40,000 years in relative harmony with nature) …The Bunya Pine was an excellent source of quality timber. Entire forests were flattened in the name of progress, and sheep and cattle were left to graze where mighty rainforests once stood. With reckless abandon and no thought of preservation, the landscape and wildlife habitat was decimated. The only concerns of the times were the basics of having shelter and food.

On my third day I did a 22 km walk. The trail transversed and scouted a plateau. The vegetation was continually changing to suit the conditions of the available light and moisture. I would duck my head under a branch and look up to a new forest. It was continually amazing… Until I rounded one bend to the unfiltered bright light above. The trail popped out of the damp, lush forest, into a baron sun-burnt paddock. My heart sank. A little tear glistened in the corner of my eye.

What had we done! How could a paddock with a hand full of cows be more important than a thriving rainforest!? I looked to the horizon and realized that at one stage not long ago, the rainforest would have stretched farther than I could see. The Bunya Pines, which had been prolific for 22 million years, were now just a few scarce specimens clinging to the top of a rocky outcrop.

My meditations were indeed insightful on my vacation. Some gave thoughts of the perspective of existence and the fragility of our planet. I thought a lot about time… comparing 20 million years to my lifetime (not even a breath). But with 4 days without disturbance or chore, gave me the opportunity to look deep within. Sometimes I meditated to connect with the energy of nature, and then to ponder the marvel of live, human development, and of course, to clear my mind. It was an amazing experience I had to share with you.

On the way back home I stopped at a community run museum. It housed antiques and equipment from yesteryear. I met a 90 year old lady who was just a toddler in the photos on the wall. Her father was a pioneer. I could tell how proud she was of his efforts. It gave me the opposite perspective of what had happened to the forest. The early settlers were ingenuitive and determined, resourceful and skilled. They created lives for themselves and futures for the generations to follow.

Environmental conservation did not get a mention when discussing the quest for survival in a wilderness. I love nature, but also love human passion. I actually drove past the museum, and was prompted to go back. I didn’t know why at the time, but that stop over gave me a different perspective on my recent meditations and revelations, and was a balance that was needed for me to find peace within. Let’s live for today and tomorrow, having learnt from the past.

The Bunya Mountains will be in my heart forever. It was a magical spot that gave me an amazing experience. If you would like to contribute to the community, leave a short note below telling us about a place in the world that has changed your life.

All the Best, Nigel.

Inner Child

The ‘Inner Child’ is a concept used in popular psychology and spiritual healing to denote the childlike aspect of a person’s psyche.

It is often viewed as an independent entity – so that it may be viewed subjectively.

Exploring the concept of your Inner Child can be useful to address the remaining effects of childhood experiences on your adult life. Traumatic events, habits and misconceived ideas from your childhood all stay with you.

Your current behaviors can be drawn from emotional memory and even the experiences stored in the brain below conscious thought.

Working on your Inner Child, by nurturing and healing any issues can have dramatic effects on your life. It is considered one of the essential stages in the 12-step programs geared for recovery from addiction, abuse, trauma, or post-traumatic stress disorder.

The Inner Child has also been called the ‘Divine Child,’ the ‘Wonder Child,’ the ‘Child Within,’ and some psychotherapists call it the ‘True Self’.

Trevor Good, an Australian Spiritual Practitioner has created a Guided Meditation to meet and spend time with your Inner Child.

This is a beautiful and gentle Guided Meditation where you venture into a magical rainforest and approach an old cottage. You walk onto the verandah and first meet your Higher Self. Your higher self gives reassurance, guidance, support and wisdom. Knowing you are safe and protected gives you the confidence to pass those gifts on to others.

You then meet your inner child. You hold them close.
As you give love to the child, you give love to yourself.
While nurturing them, you are nurturing your own true being.

While in a meditative state you spend a few minutes just sitting with your inner child. This time is different for everybody. Some children may cry and just wish to be hugged. Others may ask for clarification on events that once confused them. Others may simply need to play with a light heart and bask in the attention. This part of the meditation is unique to you, and will be exactly what you need.

You can listen to a free preview by clicking this Inner Child link.

This Inner Child Guided Meditation allows a special connection and bond to develop between your Higher-Self, Your-Self, and your Inner-Child. Although all are one, spending a few dedicated minutes connecting with these two entities is very important for inner balance and natural joy in your daily activities and attitude – and in the bigger picture, your spiritual growth. With the harmonious energies combined, you will have greater power.

Treat yourself to this magical journey, and connect with all levels of your being. Spend quality time with your Inner Child today.

Reincarnated Souls

Mozart wrote a Sonata when he was 4!

To conclude our exploration of Reincarnation, I present you with several interesting points.

Again these ideas are drawn from the eBook Reincarnation – The Vedanta Philosophy.

“An argument which the Vedantists advance in support of the theory of Reincarnation is that ‘Nothing is destroyed in the universe.’

Destruction in the sense of the annihilation of a thing is unknown to the Vedantic philosophers, just as it is unknown to the modern scientists.

They say ‘non-existence can never become existence and existence can never become non-existence.’ Or, in other words, that which did not exist can never exist, and conversely that which exists in any form can never become non-existent.

This is the law of nature.

Another consideration is that the beginning, ending and continuing are concepts of the human mind; their significance depends entirely upon our conception of time.

But we all know that time has no absolute existence. It is merely a form of our knowledge of our own existence in relation to nature.

The conception of time vanishes at the sleep of death; just as it does every night when we are in should sleep. Death resembles the state of our sound sleep.

The soul wakes up from the sleep of death just in the same manner as the insects awake in spring after sleeping the long and rigid winter-sleep, as a chrysalis in the bed of a cocoon spun by itself in autumn.

Nature teaches us the great lesson of rebirth.

And finally, the doctrine of Reincarnation alone can explain satisfactorily and rationally the diversities among children and the reason of the many instances of uncommon powers and genius displayed in childhood.

At twelve years old Pascal succeeded in discovering for himself the greater part of plane geometry.

The shepherd Mangiamelo at five years could calculate like an arithmetical machine.

Before Zerah Colburn was eight, he could solve the most tremendous mathematical problems instantly and without using figures. “In one instance he took the number 8 and raised it up progressively to the sixteenth power and instantly mentioned the result which contained 15 figures – 281,474,979,710,656.” Of course he was right in every figure.

Someone once asked him how many minutes there were in 48 years, he answered, 25,288,800.

Mozart, the great musician, wrote a sonata when he was four years old and an opera in his eight year.

There are many such instanced of wonderful powers exhibited by artists and painters when they were quite young.

Emerson says in his essay on Experience, “We wake and find ourselves on a stair. There are stairs below us which we seem to have ascended; there are stairs above us, many a one, which go upward and out of sight.”

It is an interesting image to hold in your mind, and one which compliments the statement that explains Reincarnation as a Law.
‘Birth must be followed by death and death must be followed by birth.’

The One Birth Theory

We continue the discussion on Reincarnation.

The excerpt below is from the eBook Reincarnation – The Vedanta Philosophy.

Again, these are just points raised for discussion. I do not judge the beliefs of others, or state that any one belief is better.

“But what about those who believe in the one-birth theory?

Those who believe we come here for the first and last time do not understand that the acquirement of wisdom and experience is the purpose of human life; nor can they explain why children who die young should come into existence and pass away without getting the opportunity to learn anything. What purpose is served by their coming thus for a few days, remaining in utter ignorance and then passing away without gaining anything whatever.

The followers of the one-birth theory shut their eyes to the absurdity and unreasonableness of Reincarnation.

They are happy to believe that human souls are created out of nothing at the time of the birth of their bodies and that they continue to exist throughout eternity either to suffer or enjoy because of the deeds performed during the short period of their earthly existence.

Here the question arises why should a man be held responsible throughout eternity for the works which he was forced or predestined to perform by the will of the Lord of the universe?

The theory of predestination and grace, instead of explaining the difficulty, makes God impartial and unjust.

If the omnipotent personal God created human souls out of nothing, could He not make all souls equally good and happy?

Why does He make one to enjoy all the blessings of life and another to suffer all miseries throughout eternity?

Why is one born with good tendencies and another with evil ones?

Why is one man virtuous throughout his life and another bestial?

Why is one born intelligent and another idiotic?

If God out of His own will made all these inequalities, or, in other words, if God created one man to suffer and another to enjoy, then how partial and unjust must He be!”

Debating the complexities of life and death gives greater meaning to our existence. If you would like to share your opinion, please comment below.

If this post has fuelled your thoughts, you will find the entire eBook of great interest.

Why can’t we remember our Past Lives?

The idea of an eternal soul is a belief that has been shared amongst all nationalities and religions proven by the first written records.

The scholars, poets and artisans have entwined Reincarnation into their creations throughout human existence.

But one of the biggest objections to the belief in Past Lives, is that, ‘If we have lived them, Why can’t we remember them?’
This explanation is drawn from the eBook, Reincarnation – The Vedanta Philosophy.

“Some people deny the existence of the soul in the past simply because they cannot remember the events of their past.

Others, who hold memory as the standard of existence say, “If our memory of the present ceases to exist at the time of death, with it we shall also cease to be, we cannot be immortal.”

They hold that memory is the standard of life. If we do not remember then we are not the same beings.

Vedanta answers this question by saying that it is possible to remember our previous existences. Memory is nothing but the awakening and rising of latent impressions above the threshold of consciousness.

A Raja Yogi, through powerful concentration upon these dormant impressions of the subconscious mind, can remember all the events of his past lives.
It is said that the Buddha remembered five hundred of his previous births.

Here let us take an illustration: In a dark room pictures are thrown on a screen by lantern-slides. The room is absolutely dark. We are looking at the pictures.

Suppose we open a window and allow the rays of the midday sun to fall upon the screen.

Would we be able to see those pictures?

No. Why?

Because the more powerful flood of light will subdue the light of the lantern and the pictures.

But although they are invisible to our eyes we cannot deny their existence on the screen. Similarly, the pictures of the events of our previous lives upon the screen of the subliminal self may be invisible to us at present, but they exist there.

Why are they invisible to us now? Because the more powerful light of sense-consciousness has subdued them.

If we close the windows and doors of our senses from outside contact and darken the inner chamber of our self, then by focusing the light of consciousness and concentrating the mental rays we shall be able to know and remember our past lives, and all of the events and experiences thereof.

These dormant impressions, whether we remember them or not, are the chief factors in moulding our individual characters with which we are born, and they are the causes of the inequalities and diversities which we find around us.”

The good news is that becoming a Raja Yogi is not the only way to access your Past Life memories.

Past Life Reincarnation

I have found ‘Reincarnation’ and ‘Past Lives’ to gain greater interest than most other posts I write about. I have spent the week delving deeper into the doctrine and will share my findings over the next few weeks.

But, before shining the light of learning onto ‘Reincarnation’, I first wish to make one thing clear.

The Explore Meditation website combines the different elements of my study in a practical format. I am on a spiritual path – and am excited to share my learning’s with others. At no time do I intend to preach, or profess one philosophy is superior to another. At the very least I wish to be fuel for your thought. I wish for you to make up your own mind – Believe and practice what works for you.

The Reincarnation concept is simple; Birth – Life – Death – Rebirth.
We are spiritual beings having physical experiences.

But where did this idea come from? This first posting covers the history.

The following notes have been taken from Reincarnation – The Vedanta Philosophy, which is available in full on my website.

“Reincarnation has been a belief carried from the ancient times, as it’s so well covered in the writings of philosophers, sages and prophets of all countries and cultures.

The ancient civilization of Egypt was built upon a crude form of the doctrine of Reincarnation.
Herodotus says: “The Egyptians propounded the theory that the human soul is imperishable, and that where the body of any one dies it enters into some other creature that may be ready to receive it.”

Pythagoras and his disciples spread it through Greece and Italy.
Pythagoras says: “All has soul; all is soul wandering in the organic world, and obeying eternal will or law.”

In Dryden’s Ovid we read: “Death has no power the immortal soul to slay, that, when its present body turns to clay, Seeks a fresh home, and with unlessened might, Inspires another frame with life and light.”

It was the keynote of Plato’s philosophy.
Plato says: “Soul is older than body. Souls are continually born over and over again into this life.”

Alexander the Great accepted this idea after coming in contact with the Hindu philosophers.

Julius Caesar found that the Gaul’s had some belief regarding the pre-existence of the human soul.

Celts and Britons were impressed by this idea, and it was a favorite theme of Arab philosophers and many Mohammedan Sufis.

The Jews adopted it after Babylonian captivity. John the Baptist was according to the Jews a second Elijah; Jesus was believed by man to be the reappearance of some other prophet. (See Matt, xvi, 24, also xvii, 12)

Solomon says in his Book of Wisdom: “I was a child of good nature and a good soul came to me, or rather because I was good I came into an undefiled body.”

The Talmud and Cabala teach the same thing. In the Talmud it is said that Abel’s soul passed into the body of Seth, and then into that of Moses.”

Even though the modern Bible and current Christian teachings say that Reincarnation isn’t true, most people alive today believe in some form of eternal life.

For those who say it’s ridiculous to believe that we are born again and again, I ask if it’s less ridiculous to believe that we are created from nothing, and judged by God on the efforts of this one life, which determines whether we are to spend eternity in Heaven or Hell.

Debating the process of life and death gives greater meaning to our existence. Forming opinions on the matter builds your strength of character. But as knowledge comes from experience and learning I offer the two following resources.

For any of you who wish to explore the subject, I highly recommend the eBook:

Guided Meditation – Instant Benefits For Busy People

We live in a busy world. There is never enough time!

Our priority lists start with the necessities such as family, work, cleaning and eating, and only when we juggle or sacrifice do we find the time for hobbies, personal development and dare I say it, Relaxation. And by relaxation I don’t mean sitting on the couch mindlessly flicking the remote.

Physical and Mental relaxation is vital to a balanced and healthy life. Effective relaxation must be one of your priorities!

But you are busy, I know, I know. So lets focus on a solution. How to relax, in a busy world.

Let me introduce you to Guided Meditation. And don’t shy away on reading the word ‘meditation’ drawing from your pre-conceived ideas. You don’t need to sit still for hours, and you don’t need to completely silence your mind.

Guided meditation is easy, and the benefits are Instant!

Children love hearing stories before bed. They are all consumed by the words and enter the created world and leave all other concerns behind. And then they relax and fall into a deep sleep. And in principal, Guided Meditation for adults is the same.

The author (or guide) reads a story to you, and you just go along for the ride and reap the rewards.

Reduced stress, increased mental clarity, connection to your true life’s path, increased passion, joy and energy… The benefits are as diverse as the stories to choose from. And they are yours, Instantly!

There is no ‘learning process’. Everyone can follow a Guided Meditation on the first go. There is no waiting for the results. Everyone can receive the instant benefits.

So how does it actually work? Well the meditations usually start with an awareness of your breath. You consciously watch your breath as it becomes deeper and slower. You are then asked to scan your body for areas of tension. Your eyes, jaw, or shoulders are often held tight without your knowing. And this instruction is all given to you step by step. Anybody can do it. In just a few short minutes you will be feeling balanced, aware and complete. Forms of the breath awareness and body scan start most guided meditations.

But then the stories get more interesting. You are taken on a journey into your imagination. And as your conscious mind follows the words and creates the pictures, the ‘chatter’ of your mind naturally falls away. Concerns of the real world are not a priority. The ties and anchors are released, so that when you do return, you view your current situation with greater clarity and perspective.

What was a massive problem may seem smaller, and creative solutions often present themselves right away, so your concern may be nothing more than a hurdle, which you can now skip over with zest.

And just as a child can choose from a library of books, you too can choose from a variety of Guided Meditations. Skim the titles and see what grabs your interest.

It is best for beginners to start with meditations that ‘balance’ your energy, and reduce physical, mental, and emotional stress. If you are unsure of your abilities, be assured each Guided Mediation walks you through the process step by step.

When you are comfortable with the basics, you can choose titles that will introduce you to more complex themes, such as meeting your higher self, your inner child, your spirit guide or even regress to see who you were in a past life. It is all safe, it is all easy, and you are in complete control.

Most Guided Meditations go for 15 to 30 minutes. For the benefits you will receive it is worth making time in your busy life, for if you do, the rest of your life will flow better.

Regular meditation is an investment in you own happiness and prosperity.
